Marcia Poole Journal staff writer After six years in the business of building blue-ribbon houses, a Sioux City public high school class may have to settle for repair work. Comprised of 24 senior high school students, the construction program has not only produced houses, it has turned out graduates who've gone directly into the building trades.

Additionally, through sales of its houses, the program has raised about $7,000 for scholarships But the 1981-82 class's project, assessed at about $90,000, does not have a buyer. That leaves this year's class with no liquid assests to purchase materials for its building project. Walter Kokjohn, director of industrial and vocational education, brought the class's predicament to the Sioux City Board of Education Tuesday with the hope of keeping the program alive. "This very enriching program," he said. "We've got the support of the unions and a lot of community people it would be a crime to let this program die.

But frankly, we've gone as far as we can go." Located at 3109 Sumac Trail, the house is on the market for $82,000. Kokjohn partially blames high interest rates for the lack of interest in the house. And until the house sells, the program will need about $60,000 to survive throughout the school year, he told the board. Kokjohn explained that the program has been financed through SCS Building Trades which was established when the class was first offered in 1976. He married Gertrude Thomas Dec. 27, 1910. He married Dorothy Cooper Nov. 23, 1959. They moved to South Dakota in 1964 where he farmed until 1975 when he retired to Elk Point.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Cora) Jans and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Johnson, both of Akron; three sons, Claude of Yamhill, Virgil of Westfield, Iowa, and Lorne of Akron; two stepsons, Donald French of Woodland Hills, and Wilbur Nelson of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren and six step andchildren. Dickman, 87, of Allendorf died Aug. 3, 1982, in a hospital in Sibley after a brief illness. Services were Friday in the United Methodist Church in Sibley. The Rev. Robert Crandall officiated.

Burial was in Baker Township Cemetery at Melvin under the direction of the Walton Funeral Home in Sibley. Mrs. Dickman, the former Martha Frey, was born Jan. 12, 1895, in Melvin. She married George P.

Dickman Sept. 26, 1917, at Melvin. They resided in Lake Charles, until 1918, at Melvin from 1918 to 1935, Allendorf until 1937, moved to Sibley for three years and in 1940 moved back to Allendorf. Mr. Dickman died in 1957.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Elnora) Neal Sr. of Jonesboro, two sisters, Mrs. Homer (Laura) Nicola and Lulu both of Melvin; four grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Mrs. R. Farquhar SUTHERLAND, Iowa Mrs. Raymond Farquhar, 65, of Sutherland died Monday in a hospital in Primghar. Services will be at 10:30 a.m.

Friday in the United Methodist Church in Sutherland. The Rev. Michael Hyde will officiate. Burial will be in the Waterman Cemetery under the direction of the Funeral Home. Mrs.

Farquhar, the former Ella Gunnerson, was born July 3, 1917, near Cherokee. She graduated from Peterson High School in 1937. She married Raymond Farquhar Oct. 20, 1943, at Sioux City. They farmed at Sutherland until 1978.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, James of Miami, and Donald of Sutherland; three brothers, Melvin of Anaheim, Elmer of Peterson and Henry of Belmond; a sister, Mrs. Helmer (Elsa) Swanson of Rockford, Ill. and seven grandchildren. Obituaries Mrs. Kenneth L.

Keith Mrs. Kenneth L. Keith, 40, 3129 Locust Court, home economics teacher, died Tuesday in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thurs day in Grace United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Robert Robinson will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the residence. The body will be taken from the NelsonBerger Morningside Chapel to the Shum-Novinger Funeral Home at services at 2 p.m.

Saturday. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Bedford. Mrs. Keith, the former Caye C. Cross, was born Dec.

6, 1941, at Bedford. She graduated from the Bedford Community Schools in 1960 and from Northwest Missouri State University in 1964 with a degree in home economics. For the past several years she had doing graduate work at Iowa State University toward her masters degree in home economics. She married Mr. Keith June 7, 1964, at Bedford.

The couple lived at Colo, Iowa, for three years, Bedford for two years, Ames, Iowa, for three years before moving to Sioux City in December of 1972. She had been a home economics teacher at East High School since 1973. Mrs. Keith was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, national, state and local educational associations, Sioux City Home Economics Club, Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority at Northwest Missouri State University and St. Luke's Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.

A memorial is being established in her name with East High School. Survivors include her husband; one son, Braden James at home; one daughter, Lisa Darene at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Ted Carlson, operator of Nebraska Innkeepers Inc. which owns the Marina Inn convention center in South Sioux City, announced Tuesdav the nurchase of Edition restaurants in Sioux City and Sioux Election department announces deadlines for school elections alternative to building a house, such as remodeling or repair projects. Kleinschmidt Sr. Mathew H. Kleinschmidt 77, 1600 Riverside died Monday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

The Rev. Jude Brunnert will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Kleinschmidt was born Nov. 18, 1904, in Menominee, Neb. He married Susan Brandt June 7, 1927, at Menominee. She died Jan. 27, 1979, in Sioux City.

He married Elizabeth Kuchta Oct. 4, 1980, in Sioux City. He farmed in the Yankton, S.D. area for many years and after moving to Sioux City in 1952 had worked for Curtis Sash and Door for several years and for the First National Bank for several years, retiring in 1977. After his retirement, he worked for Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School for several years.

Mr. Kleinschmidt was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; one son, Mathew R. Jr. of Sioux City; four daughters, Mrs.

Robert (Donna Fox, Mrs. Paul (Lavaun Schneider and Miss Mary Ellen, all of Sioux City and Mrs. Dale (Margaret Foote of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Weibel of Lodi, Calif. and Mrs.

Gertrude Welchert of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dale F. Behrens Dale F. Behrens, 64, 921 Lewis died Monday in a Sioux City hospital after a two-week illness. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Q. Johnson, pastor, and Vicar Dennis Heiden will officiate.

Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch, Iowa. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today in the AndersonPerasso Funeral Home. Mr. Behrens was born April 18, 1918, at Anthon, Iowa.

He married Rosella M. Schumann Sept. 26, 1948, at Midway, Iowa. He farmed in the Anthon area and lived in the Battle Creek area before 1967. He worked North American moving to Sioux City, in January of Mfg.

Co. for 15 vears as a machine operator. Mr. Behrens was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis, and Duane, both of Sioux City three daughters, Roger (Jeanine) Simmons, Mrs. Mike (JoAnn) Weise and Mrs. Richard (Janice) Meek, all of Sioux City; one brother, Lynne of Sioux City; two sisters, Clyde (Lillian) Savage and Mrs. Albert (Joyce) McCormick, both of Sioux City and three grandchildren. Tincher, was born March 23, 1894, at Kingsley, Iowa. She married Mr. Wengert March 14, 1923, at Cherokee, Iowa. He died March 25, 1980. She had resided in Sioux City since 1972, moving here from Fort Worth, Texas.

Survivors include a son, John F. of Lancaster, a brother, Donald of Sioux City and two sisters, Mrs. Amie Nixon and Mrs. Marie Emerson, both of Sioux City. Mrs.

True H. Wengert, 88, Matney Morningside Manor, died Monday at Kristie Lansink Kristie Lee Lansink, 4-year-old daughter of Randy and Connie Lansink, of Holcomb, former Sioux City residents, drowned Sunday at Lakin, Kan. during a family outing. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Maxwell Funeral Home at Denison, Iowa.

The Rev. Gorman Foley of Calvary Baptist Church in Denison will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Kristie was born May 26, 1978, in Sioux City. At the age of 2, she moved with her parents to Denison for a short time before moving to Holcomb.

Survivors include her parents, one sister, Stephanie at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beymer of Denison; paternal grandparents, Mr. amd Mrs. George Lansink of Ida Grove, Iowa; maternal great-grandfather, Leo Davis of Ellsworth, Iowa; paternai great-grandmothers, Mrs.

Selma Christiansen and Mrs. Esther Lansink, both of Ida Grove. Falls, S.D. Carlson said he will assume control of the restaurants Aug. 19.

The purchase price was not disclosed. PONCA, Neb. Mrs. Lewis Harder, 73, of Ponca died Monday in a nursing home at Ponca after a long illness. Services will be at 2:30 Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Martinsburg.

The Rev. Dwayne Lueck will officiate. Burial will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery. There will a prayer service at 8 p.m. today pen the Mohr Funeral Home at Ponca.

Mrs. Harder, the former Leona Grace Fowler, was born July 24, 1909, at Jackson. She was a lifelong resident of Dakota and Dixon Counties. She married Lewis Harder July 1, 1931, near Ponca. They farmed in the Ponca area until 1963 when they retired to town.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband; one son, Darrold of Ponca; one brother, Merle of South Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Hynes, Mrs. Frank (Florence) Hollinger and Mrs. Dorothy Santee, all of South Sioux City and Mrs.

Charlotte Waller of Sacramento, five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Donald Scheer MAPLETON, Iowa Donald Scheer, 53, of Mapleton died Tuesday en route to a Sioux City hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton.

Monsignor A.W. Behrens will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton. Mr. Scheer was born Dec. 26, 1928, near Mapleton. He was a lifelong area farmer and was a school bus driver for the Maple Valley School System for three years until poor health forced his retirement.

He married Georgia Dean Nov. 26, 1951, at Mapleton. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Monona County Saddle Club. Survivors include his wife; one son, Ronald of Mapleton; two daughters, Mrs.

Donald (Patty) Greenough of Danbury and Denise Hieber of Mapleton; one brother, Delmond of Mapleton; one sister, Mrs. Alfred (Nadine) Uhl of Mapleton and five grandchildren. James K. Johnson CENTERVILLE, S.D. James K.

Johnson, 60, of Centerville died Monday at his home in rural Centerville after a long illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Scandia Lutheran Church. Pastor N. Richard Wiekert will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. There will be a scripture prayer service at 8 p.m. today in the Wass Funeral Home at Centerville. Mr. Johnson was born Aug.

29, 1921, at Centerville. He married Addie Snoozy April 10, 1943, at Parker. farmed in Wakonda and Centerville area all their married life. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Lorraine) Maguire of Lennox and Mrs.

Elaine "Blondie" Velasquez of Centerville; one brother, Donald of Beresford; two sisters, Geraldine Johnson Hoffman of Centerville and Mrs. Maurice (Marilyn) Peterson of Beresford and six grandchildren. Reagan to visit father in hospital WASHINGTON (AP) Nancy Reagan will travel to Phoenix, on Wednesday to see her father, Dr. Loyal Davis, who was admitted this week to Scottsdale Memorial Hospital with a serious heart condition, the White House announced Tuesday. The Johnsons are the parents of three children. "Kindred Spirit," a student team from the Open Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa, will sing and give testimonies during the service at 10:45 a.m.

Sunday at the Church of the Open Bible, 601 Court St. in bridge fall A Sioux City boy was killed Tuesday when he fell from a bridge which crosses the Big Sioux River in the Riverside area of the city. Jason D. Reed, 11, 2473 Boles was climbing on a support beam on the underside of the bridge when he slipped and fell onto the rocks below, police said. The accident occurred about 10:30 a.m.
