A prayer hour will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Hagedorn was born May 8, 1901, in Lyon County. He married Christine Lot-tman in 1929 at Alvord.

He farmed his entire life in the Alvord area and continued to live on the farm after his retirement in 1967. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. James (Joyce) Gillespie of Tuscon, two grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Tina Hagedorn of Alvord and Mrs. Alfred (Leona) Anders of R.J.Brinkman AURELIA, Iowa R.J. "Dick" Brinkman, 80, of Aurelia, died in his home Monday.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Aurelia Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn King officiating. Burial will be in the PLeasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funreral Home. Mr.

Patterson, 61, of Pierson, died Sunday in a Sioux City hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday In the United Methodist Church at Pierson. The Rev. Philip W.

Cline and the Rev. Harry Calvert will officiate and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemtery at Pierson under the direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr.

Patterson was bom May 13, 1917, at Pierson. He married Sophie Maiewska March 10, 1944, at Hempstead, N. Y. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Pierson, was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Harrison F. Pederson Post 219, American Legion at Pierson.

He was a member of the Pierson Fire Department for 18 years. He worked for the Farmers Elevator of Pierson for 18 years before retiring in 1973. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Larry of Sioux City and Paul of Pierson; a brother, Ted, of Council Bluffs; a half-sister, Mrs. Erta Sherman, of Ten Mile, and two grandchildren. BenGrimmius ROYAL, Iowa Ben Grimmius, 67, of Royal, died Monday in the Spencer hospital, Services will be 2 p.m.

Wednesday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Royal. The Rev. Russell Schilling will officiate and burial will be in (Loretta) Rietz of San Antonio, Texas, and Mrs. Larry (Carol) Steinke of Elk Mound, a son, Ben, of Spencer; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Grace De Lange of Round Lake; two sisters, Mrs.

John (Elsie) Galema of Round Lake and Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Snelson of Worthington, four brothers, Henry of Round Lake and John, Manco and Cort, all of Worthington. James Vinzant ELK POINT, S.D. James L. Vinzant, 79, Elk Point, died Sunday at an Alcester, S.D., nursing home after a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Anderson Funeral Home. The Rev. David Workman will officiate. Burial will be in the Elk Point Cemetery.

Mr. Vinzant was born April 24, 1899, at Grosbeck, Texas. He married Addis Hayes, May 16, 1933. He lived at Elk Point most of his life and owned and operated Jim's Produce for many years prior to his retirement. Mrs.

Vinzant died July 1,1977. Survivors include a son, Clark of Elk Point; a brother, Burl of Waco, Texas; a half-brother, Andrew Eve of Fairfield, Texas; a half-sister, Olwia Thomas of Houston, Texas, and two grandsons. E.W.Ekberg.- WAKEFIELD, Neb. Emel W. Ekbcrg, 86, of Wakefield, died Sunday evening at a Wakefield hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church, Wakefield. The Rev. Charles Strawn will officiate. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery under the direction of Bressler Funeral Home.

Mr. Ekberg was born April 7, 1892, in Wakefield, and married Hildegard Samuelson Feb. 14, 1951, in Beioit, Wis. He farmed in the Wakefield area for several years before retiring. Survivors include the widow; three sons, Virgil and Lawrence, both Wakefield, and Harold of Wayne, one daughter, Mrs.

Richard (Beverly) Kai of Wakefield; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-granchidlren; and one brother, Martin, of Omaha, Neb. Mrs. H. Lady SPENCER, Iowa Mrs. Harold Lady, 73, of Spencer, died Sunday at the Spencer hospital.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Mark Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Mrs.

Lady, the former Irene Zahrt, was born Jan. 6, 1905, at Rossie. She was educated in Rossie and was married Nov. 19, 1927; in Spencer. She was a home worker for Nylrem Enterprises of Spencer.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors. Survivors include the widower. Chancey Pyle WEPR. Iowa Chancey Pyle, 91, of Webb, died Monday at the Spencer hospital. Services will be 2 p.m.

Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church at Webb. The Rev. Robert Cumings will officiate and burial will be in Garfield Cemetery, Webb, under direction of the Warner Funeral Home of Spencer. Mr. Pyle was born Jan.

20, 1887, at Norman, Neb. He moved in 1899 to Laurens and later to Clay County where he had lived since. He Effie Logan Aug. 22, 1906, in Spencer. Survivors include a son, Wayne of Minneapolis; a daughter, Ersil Smith of Webb; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs.

Josie Wise of Hartley, Mrs. Blanche Noblett of Orange, Mrs. Zella Fisher and Mrs. Delphia Smullens, both of Phoenix, and Mrs. Ethel Mae Biewener of Pomona, and a brother, Russell of Melvin.

He married Rhea Stolpe Dec. 6, 1975, in Sioux City. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Vogelzang who recently moved from Sioux City to Sioux Falls; two brothers, Steve and Michael, both of Sioux City; his paternal grandmother, Mrs.

Ann Vogelzang of Hawarden, Iowa, and his maternal grandfather, Orville Conway the Willow Creek Cemetery near Royal under the direction of the Baumgarten Funeral Home of Spencer. Mr. Grimmius was born Feb. 24, 1911, at Grundy Center, Iowa. He married Christenson Aug.

26, 1932, at Flandreau, S. D. They lived at Round Lake, and Milford and Everly, Iowa, before moving to Royal in 1960. Mr. Grimmius was a farmer and a trucker.

He was a member of Betlilehem Lutheran Church of Royal. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Darlene) Cooley of Piano, Texas; Mrs. Vernon of Akron, Iowa. The body will arrive Wednesday at the Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Grindberg, 93, of Sioux City, who was believed to be the oldest living -graduate of Cooper School, died Sunday night at the Billy Sunday Retirement Home, 6120 Morningside after a brief illness.

She had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Gailord W. (Betty) Mitzner, 3016 Dodge Ave. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Lutheran Church with Rev.

Dr.1 Thomas' L. Coriden, Woodbury County medical examiner, said that the death apparently was from natural causes, although laboratory tests are being made.

Richard (Sherry) Bruneau and Mrs. Russell A. (Cindy) Olson, both of Sioux Cfty, and Mrs. Marlon (Debbie) Smith of Denver, and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Vreugdenhil of Sioux City Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.

W. Merrill William W. Merrill, 91, 630 Pacquette died Monday at the Matney West Side Care Center after a long Illness. ''Mr. Merrill was born Jan.

23, 1887, at McCook Lake. He married Eldora Moon Dec. 20, 1922, 'at Dakota City. The couple lived in the Jefferson, S.D., area for many years. He operated the McCook grocery stbre, "Pop's Place." until he retired and moved to Sioux City in 1967.

Cernohlavek, was born May 2, 1885, in Tama County, Iowa, and came to Sioux City with her parents as a small child. She married Mr. Grindberg on Nov. 11, 1905, in Sioux City, and he died here in 1932. She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and was mission treasurer for many years.

She also was financial secretary for the Degree of Honor Protective Society for 15 years and was a member of the United Commercial Travelers Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Mitzner; two grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren. A memorial has been established in her name. T.

Vogelzang Airman 1C Timothy Lee Vogelzang, 21, a Sioux Cityan stationed at Grand Forks Forks Air Force Base, N. died Sunday morning at his residence in Mechinoch, N. which is located about five miles north of the air base, Airman Vogelzang was born Sept. 22, 1956, in Hawarden, Iowa. He moved to Sioux City with his parents when he was 14 years of age.

He attended East High School and was employed by the City of Sioux City prior to enlisting in the Air Force. The airman began basic training at Lackland Air Force Base.
