Friday at the hotel with official opening scheduled shortly after 10 o'clock. Mrs. Emma Turner, first vice president from Cedar Rapids, will be the main speaker of the morning. Her subject: "The Club Woman's Role in a Great Society." The state chaplain, Mrs. Helen Dukes of Des Moines, will conduct memorial services before Mrs.

J. Wesley Christensen, of Sergeant Bluff, prominent west Iowa club woman, gives the luncheon address. Friday afternoon's agenda includes reports from the rules committee and department chairmen reports. There also will be numerous actions on convention matters. Mayor James Reeder Jr.

will officially welcome the delegates during Friday evening's Citizens Night observance. The Rev. Charles Copeland, pastor of the Malone AME Church, will give the invocation preceding a talk by Mrs. Hubert Olsen, director of Christian education at the First Congregational Church. Mrs.

Jewel Spencer of port, state president of IACW, will introduce the state officers and special guests. Mrs. E. H. Soper of Sioux City will provide special music.

A reception will follow the 8 o'clock program. Saturday's daylong activities will be capped by a 7:30 o'clock banquet and talk by U.S. District Attorney Donald O'Brien. His subject: "Adult Delinquency." Mrs. Spencer will install the new officers and awards will be presented.

Other Saturday sessions will be concerned with youth, the national association's recent Denver meeting, nominating and panel discussion, "'Reorganization of the Club Structure of the Iowa Association of Women's Clubs." Mrs. Helen D. ly of Des Moines will be erator and Mrs. Nina Woodson of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Aldeen Davis of Muscatine and Mrs.

Elzona Trosper will be panelists. Assisting Mrs. Crosswhite with the over-all arrangements are Mrs. Etta Grider, registration; Mrs. Classie Brown, arts and crafts; Mrs.

Shirley Winfrey, hospitality; Mrs. Mabel Robinson and Mrs. Earldean Hunter, publicity; and Mrs. Lorene Hayes, patrons and advertising. The Hour of Pleasure Club of Sioux City is providing the banquet hostesses.

Other state officers expecting to attend include Mesdames Jeannie Morris, Barbara Robinson, Grace Wade, Pauline Humphrey, Jessye Bell Davis, Helen Wilson, Ollie Sanders, Gertrude North and Goleatha Trotter, all of Des Moines; Mrs. Sophia Roberts of Davenport and Mrs. Bessie Draine of Council Bluffs. The couple is at home in Remsen after a wedding trip to the Black Hills and Colorado. Eberly Family Holds Reunion Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Eberly left Monday for their home in Statesboro, after spending several days visiting Mr. Eberly's parents, Mr.

(AP) The treasurer of the United States, Mrs. Kathryn 0'Hay Granahan, passed the crisis period Monday, after undergoing emergency brain surgery on Thursday, Sister Marie, administrator of the Fitzgerald-Mercy Hospital, said.
